Welcome to April Adventures!
How has another month gone by already!? I guess that means I was having such a good month it just flew by and I didn't even realise!
April, April, April Adventures...
April was a pretty good month I feel, and both Adam and I have been so busy!
In big news, we've finally booked our belated HONEYMOON!! Yep! On March 21st we are jet setting off to Mexico and possibly Cuba for two weeks. I am so, so excited to just chill, drink cocktails, swim and go on an adventure! Any recommendations will be awesome - we are going to Playa del Carmen and most likey Havana! ????????
IN OTHER NEWS:
ON THE BLOG ||
The blog has been pretty quiet in terms of posting this month, however Adam and I have been working really hard to set up some goals and strategies for growth which I am really excited about. I am feeling really excited about what's to come.
In the mean time, I have cut back to posting just once a week - I really want to focus on some other aspects of the blog, like fixing some minor design issues, and re-plan some exciting projects for May, and focusing on building relationships and engagement with readers.
I had a couple of wins this month - mainly the first being that 'The Feed Feed' shared my recipe for our vanilla sandwich cookies on their 'sprinkles' and 'sandwich cookie' feed which I was super happy with!
'The Every Girl' also shared my 'spring salad' recipe in a round up on their website which was super cool! It's really nice to see some hard work finally paying off! Have to celebrate the wins people!
I got through 4 recipes this month because I dropped my posting schedule to once a week. Hopefully month I'll be back posting twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday! I have some really exciting things planned for May and I am so excited to share them with you!
APRIL RECIPES
Artichoke, green bean & goat cheese salad
Salmon Burgers with Wasabi Mayo
Healthier, chocolate banana bread
FOOD ||
To honest, we haven't really ventured out for any new food this month. We have found one more awesome coffee shop that we just so happened to be driving past.
Kainos Coffee is really great if you're in the NE Portland area. It's a little bit off the beaten track, but has stellar coffee and a beautiful feature wall that makes taking photos a dream!
LISTENING ||
Adam made yet another playlist for April and we're pretty stoked that some of our favourite bands from back in college have bought out new songs. We are loving Bliss n Esso (this is a must watch, SO CUTE!!!!!), The Chainsmokers new songs, and the new Miami Horror.
We went to see The XX last Sunday and they were so amazing!
WATCHING ||
Both Adam and I watched '13 Reasons Why' on Netflix and I'm not entirely sure how I felt about it. I really enjoyed watching the series, but it was probably one of the most confronting television series I have ever seen. I'm not going to say anything else about this, because I'm still not really sure how to respond to it. Have you seen it? What did you think?
On a lighter note, I just discovered 'Hart of Dixie' which has been my go-to series for afternoons where I need a brain break!
READING ||
I've made a conscious effort this month to do more reading! And I've read 'The Rosie Project' which I loved, and started reading 'The Long Way Home' by Saroo Brierley. I mentioned last month that I watched 'Lion' twice and loved it so I'd thought I'd read his book to. It's been so relaxing finding the time to just sit back and relax at night!
DOING ||
We went wine tasting in the first weekend of April which was really lovely! The weather was perfect and we spent a blissful day driving around various vineyards sampling and buying a lot of wine! Don't worry, we had our designated driver! Thanks Adam! ????
We spent weekends eating, drinking and hiking around Portland and caught up with so many friends for various gatherings, both out and at our house!
We had a pretty low key Easter and just celebrated by eating food and drinking prosecco - the usual really! I made some seriously kick ass hot cross buns, and a beautiful bowl of mussels for Good Friday dinner.
We've also been going back to the PSU farmer's market recently and have been eating some amazing produce!
Apart from that, April has been super chill. I've worked every weekday, so haven't had as much time to work on blog content as I would have hoped so forgive me for that!
NEXT MONTH ||
Next month I am so excited to be launching a new section of the blog. There are still some little things that I need to organize and coordinate, but I'm really hoping that this will narrow my niche a little bit and really help you guys! You'll find out more next month what that is!
For May, I'm dreaming of fresh fruits - mandarins, strawberries in particular. Fresh carrots, asparagus, and some lighter, fresher salads. The weather is getting much warmer and I'm really excited to be able to start sharing recipes from my favourite months of the year!
So that's it from me - sorry April was a little boring! Can't wait to give you guys a peak over the next couple of months on what's to come on our blog, and I might even take you on a little bit of our honeymoon if you're lucky!
Peace Out - Georgie x x
Over to you!
How was your month? What did you discover or what were you digging?
Kelsie | the itsy-bitsy kitchen says
Well now I can't wait for May to get here so I can see all you're planning! Congratulations on the share from The Feed Feed--how exciting is that? I remember those cookies and they MORE than deserved a share :). I'm reading Big Little Lies right now and am enjoying it but other than that I haven't found anything new or exciting lately 🙂

Ha ha thanks Kelsie! I'm so excited for May projects if they ever come together! I haven't watched Big little Lies but I've heard so much about it! I love Hart of Dixie because there isn't really a plot line to follow, it's absolutely mindless! ????
