This super rich dark hot chocolate is just that - rich, creamy, decadent, delicious and a little naughty!
WTF is with the weather in Portland at the moment? I don't know about you guys, but we have had the most amazing weather for the past month, then suddenly it was turned to absolute shite! Adam and I were walking home from the city last night and got stuck in a hail/rain storm and it was FREEZING!!!!!!!! All I felt like doing was curling up on the couch and watching a movie with a blanket and wine! Instead I made a failed dinner...which needless to say I am NOT going to put on the blog!!!
This horrible weather got me thinking about what I can put on the blog this week. We're going through a couple of changes at the moment which we are really excited by! Firstly, we are cutting back F**k it Fridays to once a fortnight instead of weekly. Why? Because we have so many amazing healthy recipes to share with you, that we can't always fit in a Friday recipe, so instead of doing it once a week, we've cut it back to each fortnight so you have something to look forward to! It may also be because we have 7 months until our wedding...and kind of want to fit into our outfits! We are also looking into having more consistent scheduling of posts, so that you know exactly when you're going to get an awesome Healthy Pears recipe! So this will be the last F**k it Friday until June! OMG can't believe June is around the corner, I swear I say this every year, but WHERE ON EARTH DOES TIME GO!
So this weeks Friday blog post was a little inspired by the uninspiring weather we are having at the moment, although in saying that when I decided to do this recipe this morning, it was raining and cold, and now its 3.25pm, and it's sunny! Swear I'm back in Melbourne with the temperamental seasons! This decadent hot chocolate also goes out to all our Australian followers, who have one more week left of Autumn before heading into Winter (ha ha). Winter in Australia is actually a thing, especially in Victoria where most of our followers are! So this is a shout out to you guys! Nothing beats curling up in front of the fire, reading a good book, sipping on hot chocolate (preferably our super rich dark hot chocolate) whilst it's raining outside!
This recipe is really easy, but I do warn you - it is rich! So unlike I did, avoid having both at once! Adam was a work today...so I had his share too because I didn't want to waste it. NO RAGRETS! Ok a few regrets, but meh. Our super rich dark hot chocolate combines the powers of 60% chocolate, cocoa, and a little bit of sugar and milk to make the perfect, creamy and rich cup of chocolate. Perfect for a raining Portland/Pacific Northwest day, or for the upcoming Australian winter. And remember, if you make our creations, tag us on instagram @thehomecookskitchen
